Israeli Media: Hamas Regains Civil Control Over Gaza

The Israeli newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth reported, citing Western officials, that Hamas has finally succeeded in regaining most of its civil control capabilities over large areas of the Gaza Strip, particularly in areas such as Al-Mawasi and Nuseirat in the central region of Gaza.
Earlier, Israeli security officials warned Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that failing to find an effective alternative to Hamas after the war will lead to the group’s return to power in Gaza, essentially restoring the situation to what it was in the summer of 2007 when Hamas took full control of the territory.
Meanwhile, Israel, with U.S. support, has continued its military assault on the Gaza Strip since October 7, 2023, which has resulted in a devastating humanitarian catastrophe. The number of Palestinian casualties, including dead and wounded, has surpassed 153,000, with over 11,000 missing.
This ongoing military escalation and massacre raise concerns about the long-term consequences for regional stability and reignite questions about potential political solutions, especially given the failure of the international community to find a way out that would restore security and stability.
