Joint Efforts Between Saudi Arabia and Syria to Enable Cooperation and Lift Sanctions

Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan confirmed during a press conference in Damascus that the Kingdom is in talks with the United States and European countries to lift the sanctions imposed on Syria. He praised the positive steps taken by the new Syrian administration in promoting openness and dialogue with various segments of society.

Prince Faisal added that the Kingdom, in collaboration with international parties, is working to support Syria’s stability through effective dialogue, commending the new administration’s efforts to reject terrorism and its pursuit of enhancing opportunities for peace and development in the region.

For his part, Syrian Foreign Minister Faisal al-Miqdad noted that there are comprehensive discussions between the two countries regarding reconstruction and the development of the health, energy, and social development sectors. He called for the lifting of sanctions imposed on Syria, emphasizing Syria’s efforts to be an active part of a joint Arab project that promotes regional stability and prosperity.
