Wide Cabinet Reshuffle in Jordan Targets Service and Sovereign Ministries

The office of Jordanian Prime Minister Jaafar Hassan announced a wide-ranging cabinet reshuffle, marking the first such move since the formation of his government. According to the official statement, the reshuffle will affect approximately one-third of the ministerial team and half of the modernization team, aiming to inject new capabilities into the government to meet the requirements of the next phase.
The reshuffle is intended to enhance government efficiency and accelerate the implementation of national modernization projects, particularly the Economic Modernization Vision. The government is currently preparing to launch the second executive program of the vision. The reshuffle is expected to include changes in both service-oriented and sovereign ministries, with particular attention on portfolios related to the economy, public services, and investment.

Circulating reports suggest that the selection of new ministers in Jordan was based on a detailed performance evaluation of the current team. The focus has been on bringing in technocratic figures with expertise and competence in administrative and economic fields. According to official sources, the reshuffle reflects Jordan’s direction toward accelerating progress on key national priorities, especially across the economic, political, and administrative modernization tracks.
