U.S. National Security Strategy and State Department Stance… Kremlin Comments
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that the revisions in the U.S. National Security Strategy largely align with Moscow’s vision announced by President Vladimir Putin. He added that monitoring the implementation of the new strategy is necessary, noting that the U.S. State Department often acts differently from the official content.
Peskov explained that the Kremlin expects the updated strategy to provide a framework for constructive action toward resolving the conflict in Ukraine. He also noted that it is positive for the strategy to include language favoring dialogue and good relations, which is also emphasized by the Russian President.
Peskov added that U.S. President Donald Trump has strong domestic political positions, which allows adjustments to the strategy in line with his vision. These comments followed the White House’s publication of the new strategy, which emphasizes Europe’s responsibility for its own defense and differs from the unrealistic positions of some European officials regarding solutions to the conflict in Ukraine.
