Lavrov: Russia-Iran Military Cooperation Complies with International Law
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov confirmed that military-technical cooperation between Russia and Iran operates in accordance with international law, with Moscow supplying Tehran with the equipment it requires.
Lavrov told Arab media representatives: “Following the lifting of UN sanctions on Iran, there are no restrictions on our cooperation, and we fully adhere to international law in supplying the Islamic Republic of Iran with the necessary equipment.”
These statements come in the context of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Treaty signed by Russian President Vladimir Putin and Iranian President Masoud Bezhikian in Moscow on January 17, 2025, which entered into force on October 2. The treaty aims to enhance international cooperation, coordinate within leading multilateral organizations, support regional stability and security, and address shared challenges and threats.
