Lebanese President Condemns Escalation in the South

Lebanese President Joseph Aoun denounced the renewed violence in the country, stating that today’s events in the south constitute an attack on Lebanon and a blow to its rescue efforts.
Aoun called on the Lebanese army and all relevant forces in the south, including the monitoring committee established under the November 2024 agreement, to closely follow developments, prevent any repercussions, and control any breaches that could threaten Lebanon in these critical times.
The president also instructed the army commander to take necessary field measures to ensure the safety of citizens.
Earlier today, the Israeli army announced that five rockets had been launched from Lebanon, with its air defense systems intercepting some of them. Israel has threatened a severe response to the attack sources.
