Lebanon is waiting for two important things to start supplying its citizens with electricity

The Lebanese Energy Minister, Walid Fayyad, revealed two important things that Lebanon awaits to start supplying electricity from Jordan and gas from Egypt.
Fayyad said, “Lebanon is awaiting Washington’s approval and World Bank financing to implement agreements to supply Lebanon with electricity from Jordan through Syria, and gas from Egypt through Jordan and Syria.”
He stressed that the most important thing that could impede the access of electricity and gas through Syria is the “Caesar” law, which depends on the US administration’s decision.
Earlier this year, Lebanon signed a contract with Jordan to import 250 megawatts of electricity.
The hours of rationing in Lebanon reached 22 hours, amid a dire economic situation.
