Lebanon-Saudi Cooperation Agreements Await Completion, Signing Postponed Until After Eid

Lebanese media, citing government sources, reported that the visit of Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam to Saudi Arabia, originally planned for the signing of economic agreements, has been postponed until after Eid al-Fitr. The sources expressed hope that the relevant ministries and authorities in both countries would have completed the necessary preparations for signing the agreements.
The sources also highlighted the slow pace of reforms in Lebanon at a time when urgent implementation of necessary reforms is required. They emphasized that foreign visits by officials, whether by presidents or ministers, will not yield tangible results unless donor and allied countries witness real and swift reform measures. The current economic situation in Lebanon, particularly in the post-war phase, necessitates effective actions to revitalize the economy without rushing decisions.
Reports also indicated that President Joseph Aoun may lead the Lebanese delegation accompanying Prime Minister Salam during the visit.
