Tragedy in Medina: Dozens of Indian Pilgrims Killed in Bus-Oil Tanker Collision – Video
Dozens of Indian pilgrims were killed Monday morning in a severe traffic accident in Medina, Saudi Arabia, when their bus collided with an oil tanker.
Local reports confirmed that approximately 40 pilgrims were on the affected bus, and the collision resulted in multiple fatalities and injuries.
Indian Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar expressed shock over the incident, noting that the Indian Embassy in Riyadh and the Consulate in Jeddah are providing full support to the affected individuals and their families. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi offered condolences to the victims’ families and wished a speedy recovery for the injured, while the Jeddah Consulate set up an operations room to coordinate assistance efforts.
The accident occurred around 1:30 a.m. IST when a bus carrying 43 passengers from Mecca to Medina collided with a diesel tanker near the Al-Mafrahat area.
