Monitoring the spread of a dangerous disease in Syria

The Syrian Ministry of Health has monitored the spread of a dangerous infectious disease in the Zabadani area in the capital, Damascus, and announced measures to prevent its expansion.
The ministry said that it had detected in early June that a young man was infected with diphtheria, an infectious disease that causes respiratory disorders to the point of suffocation.
She confirmed that she had quarantined the young man, and conducted a campaign of vaccinations against the disease, so that the young man would comply with recovery two days ago, but she monitored two other cases.
She stressed that this type of diphtheria is not very dangerous and can be surrounded and eliminated.
