Monkeypox is spreading in the world… and deaths are in the dozens

France, Germany, Canada, Portugal, the United States and Britain announced the first cases of monkeypox, which is a common disease in remote areas of Central and West Africa.
The World Health Organization said that 58 people have died of monkeypox, while more than 1,200 others have been infected in the Democratic Republic of the Congo since last January.
