Moscow and Minsk will use their full potential

Today, Tuesday, Russian Deputy Defense Minister Alexander Fomin indicated that the Russian and Belarusian armies are studying the case of involving all the military capabilities of the two countries in order to ensure security.
According to Fomin: “A situation may arise in which the forces and means of the regional forces are not enough to ensure the security of the Union State, and we must be ready to strengthen it,” and Fomin noted that “in cooperation with the Belarusian side, an understanding was reached that for the sake of common defense it would be necessary to involve the full potential of the military structure.
He said, “When the next inspection of the readiness of the forces of the Union State on the territory of Belarus, Russia will participate in part of the command and control units and units of the Eastern Military District, which participated in the sudden inspection that was conducted on the Russian Armed Forces in January.”
Fomin stressed that various options for joint action will be developed to neutralize threats and stabilize the situation on the borders of Russia and Belarus during the test of the Union’s rapid deterrent forces, which were agreed upon by the presidents of the two countries, Vladimir Putin and Alexander Lukashenko, at the end of last year.
He also explained in this regard that “the presidents of Russia and Belarus agreed to hold this event [inspection] in December of last year. The two presidents decided to conduct an unscheduled inspection of the forces and assess their readiness to ensure military security, as well as develop various options for joint actions to neutralize threats and stability of the situation on the borders of the Union State.
Fomin concluded by saying: “Last year, the “Zabad – 2021” exercises were conducted, in which its high combat readiness was confirmed.
For its part, the Belarusian Ministry of Defense announced that the joint exercises of the Russian and Belarusian armed forces are scheduled for the period from February 10 to 20.
Earlier, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Belarusian Armed Forces Pavel Moraviko said that a surprise inspection of the rapid reaction forces of the Union State with Russia will be carried out. At the final stage of this event, the Belarusian-Russian exercises “Allied Resolve 2022” will be held.
