New Delhi airport is out of service… and why?

Heavy rain delayed flights and disrupted traffic in the Indian capital, New Delhi, on Saturday.
The Indian Meteorological Department said Delhi had experienced the heaviest rainfall in 46 years in the monsoon season, which lasts until the end of the month.
The Meteorological Department added that the rains caused major disruption to traffic and severe flooding in low-lying areas of the city and suggested that people should stay at home.
Indian airlines issued guidance to travelers asking them to review the status of their flights.
Social media users posted videos of the flooded streets and airport, as well as stranded buses.
