Official: Barcelona Midfielder’s Season Ends After Severe Injury

Barcelona’s coaching staff received a shocking blow following the medical diagnosis of midfielder Marc Casadó’s injury, sustained during the team’s clash against Atlético Madrid in La Liga’s Matchday 28.
According to the specialized sports newspaper Marca, Casadó’s knee injury turned out to be more severe than initially expected by the club’s medical team. The player remained on the field after colliding with Atlético star Antoine Griezmann in the first half and only exited the game in the 67th minute.
The sports newspaper Sport reported that Casadó is expected to be sidelined for over two months after being diagnosed with a knee ligament sprain and a partial tear in the external ligament. If the tear is complete, his recovery period could extend beyond two months.
The match witnessed dramatic events, as Barcelona overturned a 2-1 deficit in the 72nd minute to secure a stunning 4-2 victory. With this win, Barça reclaimed the top spot in the La Liga standings with 60 points, level with Real Madrid but with a game in hand.
