Palestinian Foreign Ministry Warns of Plots to Blow Up Al-Aqsa Mosque

The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs warned on Saturday of alleged plans by Israeli organizations aiming to blow up Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem.

In a statement reported by the Palestinian News Agency (WAFA), the ministry highlighted the seriousness of content circulated on platforms affiliated with Israeli groups, which talk about blowing up Al-Aqsa Mosque and building the so-called Temple in its place.

The ministry stated that such calls amount to systematic incitement to escalate attacks on Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem. It added that the ruling Israeli right-wing feels emboldened to carry out its expansionist agenda, taking advantage of the muted international response to what it described as “crimes” being committed in the Gaza Strip.

The ministry called on the international community and UN institutions to take these provocations seriously, and to act in accordance with international law to stop what it called Israel’s unilateral actions against the Palestinian people, and to force Israel to comply with international legitimacy and peace resolutions.

It is worth noting that a number of Israelis stormed the courtyards of Al-Aqsa Mosque under Israeli military protection during the Jewish Passover holiday last week.
