Poland continues tension with Belarus

Today, Monday, a spokeswoman for the Polish border guards, Anna Michalskaya, told reporters that the situation is still tense on the Polish-Belarusian border.
Michalskaya added: “We constantly see aggressive people trying to cross the border. Some Belarusians are happy with this. We have repeatedly noticed how Belarusian troops, Belarusian soldiers or Belarusian border service employees throw stones or cut barbed wire.”
“We note all the time that the Belarusian forces maintain tension on the border, and do not give us a moment of peace,” Michalskaya added.
European countries have called on the country from which citizens leave for Belarus to immigrate to Europe illegally through Belarus, to suspend those flights in order to solve the crisis.

On December 2, the European Union, as well as the United States, Britain and Canada, imposed a new package of sanctions on Belarus, due to allegations of human rights violations and the migrant crisis at its borders with the European Union.
And Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki announced, in the middle of last month, that he had discussed with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, in Warsaw, the possibility of imposing additional sanctions on Belarus in the future, due to the migrant crisis at the border. From the Middle East and Africa, who are trying to reach the countries of the European Union, via Poland.
The Polish authorities have also deployed thousands of soldiers and border guards, to prevent these people from crossing; Minsk was accused of creating a “migration crisis” on the common border, which the latter denies.
