Qassem Reveals the Reason Behind the Suspension of Iranian Flights to Beirut and Offers a Proposal to Arab Countries Regarding Gaza

Hezbollah Secretary-General Naim Qassem described Trump’s plan to relocate Gaza residents as “political genocide,” emphasizing that such plans are unrealistic dreams. He reiterated Hezbollah’s firm stance in condemning and rejecting any displacement of Palestinians. Qassem urged concerned Arab nations to adopt a unified position against this displacement scheme, as it not only targets the Palestinian people but also threatens the interests and sovereignty of these nations. He further expressed Hezbollah’s willingness to assist in developing strategies and projects to counter the U.S. displacement plan.

On the Lebanese front, Qassem congratulated the Lebanese people on the formation of the new government, stating that Hezbollah is pleased with this achievement and played a role in facilitating the process. He also emphasized the importance of internal consensus in electing Lebanon’s president.

In his speech on Sunday evening, Qassem stressed that Lebanon is facing a crucial challenge requiring all efforts to ensure a full Israeli withdrawal from the southern Lebanese territories. He also underscored the state’s responsibility in reconstruction efforts, declaring Hezbollah’s readiness to cooperate in rebuilding war-torn areas. He reaffirmed that the party would not evade this responsibility and vowed to stand by the people until all destroyed areas in Lebanon are restored.

Regarding the recent tensions in Beirut following the suspension of Iranian flights, Qassem revealed that the Lebanese government received a threat warning of an Israeli airstrike on Beirut Airport’s runway if an Iranian plane were to land. This threat prompted the decision to halt flights. He condemned the act as a violation of Lebanese sovereignty and warned that it could embolden further Israeli aggression, urging the government to reconsider its decision. Additionally, he criticized the army’s actions in using tear gas to disperse Hezbollah’s officially sanctioned peaceful protest.

Qassem also issued a public call for mass participation in the funeral of former Hezbollah Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah and the party’s Executive Council Chief Hashem Safi Al-Din. He urged supporters to attend in order to reaffirm their allegiance to the resistance movement and called on all participants to exercise maximum discipline, follow the organizers’ instructions, and refrain from firing gunshots.
