Republicans write to Biden about the economic stimulus file

Ten Republican members of the US Senate sent a letter to Democratic President Joe Biden to urge him to review his $ 1.9 trillion economic stimulus plan with the aim of finding a “compromise” acceptable to both parties.

“Our proposal reflects many of your declared priorities, and if it has your support, we believe that this plan can be passed quickly in Congress with bipartisan support, while we wish to work in good faith” with the new administration, the letter said.

The ten Republicans said that their plan intersects with Biden’s call for increased funding to push for vaccination and Corona tests, in addition to supporting schools and childcare centers, but they indicated that their plan would include more targeted assistance to needy families and additional funding for small businesses.

The signatories to the letter, including Susan Collins, Lisa Murkowski and Mitt Romney, said that on Monday they would unveil their legislative proposals to address the implications of the Corona virus crisis, and also asked Biden to hold a meeting with them to discuss.
