Russian Foreign Ministry summons Israeli ambassador after injury of RT journalists in Lebanon on March 19
Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova announced that the ministry will summon Israeli Ambassador to Moscow Yosef to present Russia’s assessment of the attack that targeted RT channel correspondents in Lebanon.
Zakharova explained that a TV crew affiliated with the channel was injured on March 19 by an Israeli missile while on a reporting mission in southern Lebanon. Moscow described the Israeli actions as a “blatant violation of international law.”
Correspondent Steve Sweeney and cameraman Ali Reda confirmed they were wounded in an Israeli airstrike on the Qasimiyeh bridge, stating the targeting was deliberate despite them wearing press-labeled vests. Both are currently receiving hospital treatment.
