Russia Calls for an End to U.S. Strikes on Yemen

The Russian Foreign Ministry announced today that Moscow has urged Washington to halt its ongoing airstrikes on Yemen.
According to the ministry, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov held a phone call with his U.S. counterpart Marco Rubio, during which he called on the United States to cease its use of force against the Ansar Allah movement in Yemen. Lavrov also emphasized the importance of engaging all parties in a political dialogue to reach a peaceful resolution and end all acts of violence.
In a related development, the U.S. State Department stated earlier that Rubio briefed Lavrov on the military operation his country is conducting against Yemen.
It is worth noting that U.S. President Donald Trump ordered large-scale military strikes against Ansar Allah in Yemen on Saturday. The airstrikes, which targeted six Yemeni provinces, resulted in dozens of casualties.
