Russia destroys a camp north of the Syrian border

An official field source confirmed that Russian reconnaissance planes spotted a military headquarters containing military equipment and drones that had recently arrived across the Syrian-Turkish border towards a camp for the “Army of Glory” organization in the vicinity of Sarmada city.

The source added that these sightings necessitated the intervention of the Russian warplanes through 4 focused air raids that targeted the camp directly, which resulted in its complete destruction, while preliminary information indicates the killing and wounding of approximately 35 militants.

The source explained that the raids coincided with a ceremony held by the organization inside the camp to graduate 200 new militants who underwent training courses on the use of various weapons. Injuring a civilian and causing material damage to property.

Earlier, the deputy head of the Russian Center for Reconciliation in Syria, Major General Oleg Egorov, said in a press statement: “Today, the Russian Air Force destroyed a camp belonging to the Al-Nusra Front terrorist organization, which is banned in Russia, in the Sheikh Yusuf area.”

Egorov added that the bombing killed more than 120 militants.

He also explained that “as a result of the strike, 4 drone observation points, launch units, and about 20 hand-held drones, which the terrorists prepared to carry out attacks on the facilities of the Russian units in Syria, were disabled.”
