Russia is ready to work with Washington

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova revealed today, Tuesday, that Russia is ready to further work with the United States and the West on guarantees.
“We’ll see how the work continues [with the United States],” she said.
Commenting on the Russian-US talks in Geneva, Zakharova added that the conversation was “professional, constructive and practical.”
“For our part, we have demonstrated this approach and are ready for further action,” a spokeswoman for the Russian Foreign Ministry said.
On Monday, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov stressed that without progress on the issue of NATO non-expansion and the non-deployment of missiles near Russia, continuing work with the United States on other aspects of security guarantees would be in doubt.
Russia and the United States held consultations in Geneva on January 9-10 on Moscow’s proposals for security guarantees, after which a meeting of the Russia-NATO Council will be held in Brussels, and consultations will be held in Vienna on the platform of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe.
The United States expressed its readiness to discuss the issue of re-imposing some restrictions on the deployment of medium and short-range missiles in Europe, conducting military exercises, and on measures to increase confidence and transparency.
