Russian invitation to meet the King of Jordan

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has invited his Jordanian counterpart Ayman Safadi to visit Moscow at the time he sets, indicating that he will meet with Jordanian King Abdullah II, to convey Russian President Vladimir Putin’s assessments on world events.

“I think we had a very good conversation, and I seized the opportunity and invited the minister to make another visit to the Russian Federation at a convenient time for him,” Lavrov said during a joint press conference after his talks with his Jordanian counterpart today in the Jordanian capital, Amman.

Lavrov also indicated that, during his visit to Amman, he will convey the assessments of Russian President Vladimir Putin on a number of international issues to Jordan’s King Abdullah II.

The Russian Foreign Minister described the meeting with his Jordanian counterpart Ayman Safadi at the joint press conference as “very useful and fast.”

Lavrov also stated during the conference that “we will also have a meeting with His Majesty (Jordan) after the completion of this event. I mean to convey to His Majesty the King the wishes and a special assessment of some global problems from the President of the Russian Federation (Vladimir) Putin.”
