Russian Medvedev after dropping Djokovic at the US Open

Russian Daniil Medvedev smashed Novak Djokovic’s dream of winning four major titles in one year, defeating him 6-4, 6-4, 6-4 in the US Open final, the fourth major slam.
This title is the first big for the Russian, while Djokovic was a Yemeni by adding the US Open to the Australian Championships, the French Roland Garros, and the English Wimbledon since the beginning of this year, in an achievement that was achieved for the last time 52 years ago, specifically by the Australian legend Rod Laver (83 years) year 1969, who was present in the final on Sunday.
“I’m sorry for the fans and for Novak because we all knew what he wanted to achieve in this match,” Medvedev said after his victory.
The Russian praised his opponent, saying, “What you have achieved in your career for me makes you the best player in the history of the game.”
He also continued, “It was not easy to win against a player of the size of Djokovic
Djokovic replied, “Congratulations to Daniel. A great match. If there is one player who deserves to win a big title, it is you.”
Medvedev played one of the best matches of his career to emerge victorious and end a series of 27 consecutive victories in major tournaments for Djokovic, and to avenge the Serbian who defeated him in the Australian Championship final last February.
