Russia’s apology for participating in the energy conference

The Russian Consul General in the American city of Houston, Alexander Zakharov, said that the Russian consulate will not participate in the International Energy Conference in Houston for the first time in more than 20 years.
Unfortunately, we will not participate this year, Zakharov said, for the first time in more than 20 years. Conference registration was canceled literally at the last minute.
In addition, they made it clear that the presence of Russian delegates at the Forum was undesirable. They even called back to make sure I understood the situation correctly.”
Zakharov also stressed that this is the first time that representatives of Russia, which is one of the three largest oil powers, are not officially invited to this event.
The Russian Consul General added that the question that arises is how can participants in the forum discuss and analyze global energy problems in the absence of one of the largest producers and exporters of energy resources.
