Salama: The deterioration of the country’s economy caused by political instability

The Governor of the Central Bank of Lebanon, Riad Salama, revealed the volume of cash reserves and precious metals in the country, stressing that the cause of the deterioration of the economy and the national currency is political instability.
“Parallel exchange rates are inevitable for insufficient foreign exchange reserves,” Salama said.
The country’s current foreign exchange reserves are $10 billion, while gold reserves are estimated at $17 billion.
