Lebanese Government Condemnation
President Nawaf Salam also condemned the ongoing Israeli assaults on Lebanese territory, noting that terrorizing civilians in their homes contradicts international laws and hinders Lebanon’s efforts to restore normal life.
He called on the countries overseeing the ceasefire agreement, especially the United States and France, to take urgent action to stop these attacks and accelerate the full Israeli withdrawal from Lebanese territory in accordance with UN Resolution 1701.
Lebanese Foreign Ministry Reaffirms Commitment to Resolution 1701
The Lebanese Foreign Ministry issued several urgent statements affirming Lebanon’s commitment to international resolutions, particularly Resolution 1701, and stressed that the continued Israeli attacks undermine regional peace and security.
The ministry called on friendly and allied countries to intensify diplomatic efforts and pressure Israel to stop its violations, ensuring that Lebanon will continue its international efforts to protect its sovereignty and end the military escalation.
Israeli Justification for the Airstrike on the Southern Suburb
The office of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Yisrael Katz issued a joint statement announcing that the Israeli military targeted infrastructure used for storing precision-guided missiles belonging to Hezbollah in Beirut.
