Saudi Opposition? Official Invitation for Dissidents Abroad to Return to the Kingdom, Directed by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman

The Head of State Security in Saudi Arabia, Abdulaziz Al-Huwaireini, announced that Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman has issued a directive concerning dissidents abroad, confirming that the invitation is open for those wishing to return to the Kingdom.
In a media interview, Al-Huwaireini mentioned that 20% of those detained in the Kingdom are Saudis who were arrested based on the wishes of their families or in coordination with them, after realizing the state’s efforts to deal with dissidents in a corrective, rather than punitive, manner for those holding differing views, excluding those involved in criminal acts.
Regarding dissidents abroad, Al-Huwaireini clarified that the official invitation for return to the Kingdom is ‘open,’ as directed by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. He added that Saudi embassies are ready to welcome them, with a specific contact number (990) provided for anyone wishing to return.
