Serious oil spill in the United States

Aerial surveys carried out by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration in the United States of America showed an oil spill off the coast of Louisiana, in the wake of Hurricane Ida, which recently swept the region.
The images show the spill extending over a distance of at least 16 km near the oil and gas hub of Louisiana, and it is not yet clear how much oil was leaking.
The experts, based on the available images, suggested that the talk is about a very intense oil leak, which increases the seriousness of the situation and requires additional investigations.
