China warns US: Hormuz blockade undermines ceasefire

Strait of Hormuz blockade: China rejects April 13 blockade, urges Washington to respect truce
China’s Foreign Ministry considered the US blockade of the Strait of Hormuz a “dangerous and irresponsible act,” warning that it would increase tension in the region and undermine the fragile truce between Iran and the United States.
Foreign Ministry spokesman Guo Jiakun said: “The two parties have reached a ceasefire, while the US military buildup and blockade will only exacerbate tension, undermine the fragile ceasefire, and seriously threaten the safety of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz.”
Washington announced the imposition of a naval blockade on Iranian ports and the Strait of Hormuz from the Arabian Sea side on the evening of April 13. Iran, in response, warned of completely halting navigation through the strait, excluding ships from friendly countries.
