Syria: Israeli Patrol Reportedly Crosses into Northern Quneitra, Syrian Observatory Issues Warning

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights has reported that an Israeli military patrol entered the area near the Taranja–Hader road in northern Quneitra province, marking a new development in a series of repeated Israeli movements inside Syrian territory, particularly in the southern regions bordering the occupied Golan Heights.
According to the Observatory, the incursion occurred amid a noticeable increase in Israeli military and security activity near the border strip. The report also noted a prevailing sense of concern and anticipation among residents in southern Syria, in light of the ongoing developments.

Increased Aerial Activity in Quneitra and Daraa
The Observatory added that on the previous day, there had been intensified aerial operations by Israeli forces over Quneitra and Daraa provinces. Activists affiliated with the Observatory recorded the flight of Israeli reconnaissance aircraft over Quneitra’s airspace, coinciding with the launch of illumination flares over the Harsh al-Jubailiya area in western Daraa and areas west of Nawa city, near the administrative border with Quneitra.
Observatory Warns of Escalating Tensions
The Syrian Observatory warned that the persistent escalation of Israeli operations in southern Syria reflects growing tension in the border zone. The statement pointed to the Syrian government’s limited ability to establish effective security control or prevent the region from becoming a theater for regional confrontation.

Previous Incursion Documented in June
On June 29, the Observatory documented a separate incident in which four Israeli military vehicles reportedly advanced from the occupied Golan Heights toward a newly established medical point in the village of Al-Hamidiyah, located in northern Quneitra’s countryside.
