Syrian Democratic Council Condemns the Constitutional Declaration and Calls on the People to Express Their Aspirations

The Syrian Democratic Council (SDC) has expressed its rejection of the draft constitutional declaration, describing it as disappointing. This statement was issued on the occasion of the 14th anniversary of the Syrian revolution on Saturday.
The council pointed out that the constitutional declaration does not reflect the aspirations of the Syrian people, who seek to build a democratic state. It called on all citizens and national forces to unite and express their ambitions.
The SDC also condemned the escalation in the Syrian coastal region and the resulting civilian casualties, considering it a confirmation of the urgent need for a nationwide ceasefire and an end to cycles of violence that hinder progress toward stability and peace, according to the statement.
Additionally, the council emphasized the necessity of adopting comprehensive political solutions that take into account Syria’s complex reality while respecting pluralism and diversity.
The Syrian Democratic Council stressed that achieving the revolution’s goals is not limited to changing the regime alone but requires serious efforts to build a new system that represents all Syrians, guarantees their rights, and upholds the principles of justice and democracy.
