Tesla Recalls 46,000 Cybertrucks in the U.S. Due to Technical Defect

Tesla has announced the recall of 46,096 Cybertruck pickup vehicles in the United States due to a technical defect in an exterior decorative panel that may detach while driving, posing a safety risk. This recall is part of a series of repeated recalls for the same model since last year.

The recall involves an issue with a panel known as the “Cant Rail,” made of stainless steel, which may loosen and separate from the vehicle’s structure during operation. Warnings indicate that the detachment of this part while driving could endanger drivers and road users, particularly at high speeds.

Tesla, led by billionaire Elon Musk, dominates a significant share of the U.S. electric vehicle market but faces recurring challenges related to quality and safety. Musk, who also serves as a senior advisor in former U.S. President Donald Trump’s efforts to reduce government size, balances his political roles with managing his rapidly expanding company.

Tesla plans to repair the recalled vehicles free of charge by reinforcing the exterior panel to prevent detachment. The company has urged affected owners to visit authorized service centers immediately, with official notifications being sent via email.

This recall highlights the challenges Tesla faces in maintaining safety standards while accelerating production amid fierce competition in the electric vehicle market.
