American actor Val Kilmer, known for his roles in films like “Top Gun” and “Batman Forever,” passed away on Tuesday, April 1, at the age of 65 in Los Angeles.

His daughter, Mercedes Kilmer, attributed his death to pneumonia after years of health struggles, including his 2015 diagnosis of throat cancer, which severely impacted his ability to speak.

Career and Roles

Born on December 31, 1959, in Los Angeles, Kilmer began his career on stage before gaining widespread fame in the mid-1980s through his roles in action and comedy films. He became one of Hollywood’s prominent faces in the 1990s, starring in key films like “The Doors” and “Heat,” in addition to his unforgettable role in “Top Gun.”

Persistence in Work Despite Health Challenges

This was a testament to his strong will and optimistic drive in the face of illness.

Between Fame and Personal Life: “The Balance Line”

In one interview, Kilmer spoke about choosing balance between fame and personal life, emphasizing that he had no regrets about his absence from the cinematic scene for long periods.
