The decline of Emmanuel Macron’s popularity

The popularity of French President Emmanuel Macron began to decline, as it declined by six points in March compared to last February, with only 28 percent of positive opinions, according to a poll reported today, Monday, by French media.

This is according to the survey conducted by the Studies and Consultations Group (BVA) in the midst of the protest against the reform of the pension system, this is the lowest level reached by the French president in this measure since November 2018 with the beginning of the yellow vest crisis.

His prime minister, Elizabeth Bourne, also lost two points in one month, with only 28 percent of those surveyed saying they had a favorable opinion of her work.

And on the eve of the tenth day of mobilization against controversial pension reform across the country, the Barometer indicates that more than a majority of those questioned believe that such reform should not be implemented.

More than two-thirds of the respondents stated that they are against postponing the legal retirement age to 64 years, as stipulated in the text currently in the hands of the Constitutional Council.
