The Lebanese Presidency Condemns the Attack on UNIFIL and Calls on Citizens

The Lebanese Presidency issued a statement in which President Joseph Aoun condemned the attack on the convoy of the Deputy Commander of UNIFIL while passing through Beirut Airport Road yesterday.

Aoun rejected such actions, affirming that the perpetrators will be held accountable and that security forces will not tolerate any party or individual attempting to destabilize the country. He urged citizens to express their views peacefully and to avoid being drawn into calls that could lead to chaos and the recurrence of such attacks.

It is worth noting that during the popular protests on Beirut Airport Road, a UNIFIL vehicle was set on fire, resulting in injuries among several personnel, including the Deputy Commander of UNIFIL.
