Moscow: The New Reality Strengthens Ukrainian Support for a Settlement on Russian Terms

Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov reaffirmed Moscow’s position in favor of resolving the conflict in Ukraine through political and diplomatic means, noting that “the optimal solution is a peaceful settlement” in line with the new reality, and that the Russian side remains open to dialogue in this regard.

Peskov explained that the proportion of Ukrainians supporting an end to the crisis on Russian terms has been steadily increasing. He added that Russia’s stance on negotiations is based on the need to consider the “new reality on the ground” and Russia’s security interests, emphasizing that the Russian leadership has been ready for dialogue on this basis since the beginning of the conflict.

On the military front, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced the liberation of the villages of Sladkoye and Novoye in the Zaporizhzhia region of southern Ukraine, and the village of Gnatovka in the Donetsk People’s Republic in the east, in addition to making territorial gains in the city of Krasnoarmeysk. According to the ministry’s daily briefing, military operations over the past 24 hours inflicted losses exceeding 1,500 Ukrainian personnel, along with the destruction of several unmanned boats and the downing of more than one hundred drones across multiple sectors.
