The objectives of the Iranian visit to the Sultanate of Oman

The Iranian ambassador to the Sultanate of Oman, Ali Najafi, explained the goals behind the Iranian President’s visit, Ibrahim Raisi, to the Gulf state this week.
Raisi was scheduled to arrive in the Sultanate of Oman on Monday, May 23.
Najafi said in statements to the Iranian news agency that “Iran and the Sultanate of Oman enjoy good relations in various fields.”
Kanna added that “the relationship of Iran and Oman is based on good neighborliness and cultural and historical commonalities,” noting that “Tehran and Muscat have excellent relations in the political field, and that the two neighbors have no problems in this field.”

The Iranian ambassador, Ali Najafi, also emphasized that “the Iranian government has a specific strategic approach to developing relations with its neighbors, so Oman as a neighbor of Iran in the south of the Gulf of Oman in the southeast of the country can have an important place in politics over [relationships] with neighbors.”

He also added that “the Iranian president’s visit to Oman could pave a new ground for strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries.”
Referring to the visit, which is the first by an Iranian president in two years, Ambassador Ali Najafi said that the Islamic Republic of Iran supports Oman’s constructive role in regional developments.
Speaking about the cooperation between Tehran and Muscat, Najafi said that “the two countries have capabilities to strengthen relations in the field of transportation and health tourism, and the public and private sectors of both countries can cooperate to create new opportunities for relations.”
Najafi also continued: “Also, Iran and the Sultanate of Oman can strengthen relations in the ports, as there are great capabilities in the southern Iranian ports.”
The Iranian ambassador to the Sultanate of Oman, Ali Najafi, believes that the Iranian president’s visit to Muscat helps in promoting economic interactions, and fortunately, economic cooperation between Tehran and Muscat is growing.
