The Syrian government sets prices for some popular meals

The Syrian government has set prices for some of the country’s low-income people’s meals, which appear to be more expensive than wages.
While the average salary in Syria is 150 thousand Syrian pounds, the price of falafel sandwich is 2500 Syrian pounds. The Syrian citizen needs three meals per day at a price of 7500 pounds, i.e., during the month he will pay 225 thousand pounds for three falafel meals per day.
Prices became very high, especially before Ramadan, with the dollar rate reaching 7,500 Syrian pounds.
The price of the falafel disk was also set at 125 lira, and the price of a kilo rosary at 11 lira.
