The White House is concerned about the use of white phosphorus in Gaza, and the US State Department comments

White House spokesman John Kirby expressed America’s concern about reports that the Israeli army is using white phosphorus in Gaza, stressing that Washington will seek to obtain more information on that issue.

In a related context, the US State Department said that America expects every country that supplies it with weapons to use those weapons in accordance with the laws of war, and “Israel is no exception,” noting that the Israeli army urgently needed tank ammunition, but that does not mean that it does not comply with international law.

The US State Department announced that Special Envoy David Satterfield held meetings this weekend with the Israelis, and asked them to “do more about the humanitarian situation in Gaza.”
