The Syrian Directorate of Antiquities announced the discovery of a huge archaeological discovery, which is a floor plate of mosaic stones dating back to the Roman era, the only one of its kind in the world.
According to official statements quoted by the Syrian news agency SANA, the painting was discovered by chance while armed men were digging tunnels during the war in Syria and tried to uproot parts of it to sell them. The presence of the giant painting in addition to several collectibles and other similar paintings.
The discovered painting consists of two main scenes, the first is three frames and a circle in the middle, in which are drawings of Achilles with the Queen of the Amazons, and a personification of Heraclius with another Amazonian queen, and around the frame are drawings of Amazons with the kings of Greece, a reference to a legendary story known in the archaeological texts of the poetic epic “The Iliad”. Which talks about the Amazonian war between the Trojans and the Greeks.
