Shockwaves from the Skies: U.S. Launches Iran Strike on Nuclear Sites
In a dramatic escalation of regional tensions, U.S. President Donald Trump confirmed that American forces carried out what he called a “highly successful” strike targeting three nuclear facilities in Iran — Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan — using B-2 stealth bombers.
Trump announced that all aircraft involved had safely exited Iranian airspace following the mission, stating that a full payload of bombs was dropped on the main Fordow site.
Describing the operation as a “historic moment” for the United States, Israel, and the world, Trump urged Iran to agree to end the war and declared, “Now is the time for peace.”
According to Axios, Israeli officials were briefed ahead of the operation. Israeli Channel 14 reported extensive damage to facilities believed to be part of Iran’s nuclear weapons infrastructure.
U.S. media outlets including NBC and Fox News confirmed that members of Congress had been informed, and that B-2 bombers were used in the attacks, with two bombs reportedly hitting Fordow’s entrances.
Iranian state TV acknowledged strikes on Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan, stating that the sites had been evacuated earlier for “security reasons.”
CNN cited sources indicating Trump has no current plans for further action in Iran but is pressuring Iranian leaders to return to the negotiating table.
Meanwhile, Israel’s Home Front Command raised readiness to maximum alert, and widespread mobilization of Israeli Air Force assets was reported. Iran’s Qom provincial authorities confirmed that air defense systems were activated after detecting unidentified aerial objects shortly before the Fordow strike.
