Trump to Axios: Israeli Strike on Iran Could Facilitate New Agreement

He noted that Iranian officials may now be more inclined to engage in serious negotiations. Trump added that Iran should have agreed to a deal before the expiration of the 60-day deadline he had set, and suggested that they might now be open to a nuclear agreement. He also praised Israel’s use of advanced U.S.-made military equipment during the operation.
Separately, Axios cited a senior White House official as saying that the United States currently has no plans to launch an attack on Iran or join the Israeli operation. The official denied claims that Trump had privately supported the Israeli strike, emphasizing that the president did not want Israel to carry out attacks on Iran while negotiations were still underway.
