Trump Highlights Strong Ties with Erdoğan, Urges Israel to Resolve Disputes with Turkey

U.S. President Donald Trump praised Turkey’s role in Syria, describing Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan as a “very strong and very smart man.”

During a meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the White House on Monday, Trump emphasized his good relationship with Erdoğan and the importance of Turkish cooperation in the region.

“I have a very good relationship with a man named Erdoğan. I know the press is mad at me for that, but I like him, and he likes me too. There are no problems between us,” Trump said. He stressed that Erdoğan is a powerful and intelligent leader, adding that what Erdoğan has accomplished in Syria is something no one else could have done.

Responding to Netanyahu’s comments regarding issues with Turkey over Syria, Trump expressed confidence in his ability to resolve these disputes, emphasizing the need for mutually satisfactory solutions.

Trump concluded by reaffirming the strong U.S.-Turkey relationship and voiced optimism about resolving any future tensions between Israel and Turkey.
