Trump from Sharm El-Sheikh: Praise for Egypt’s Role in Gaza Agreement and a Message to Iran

U.S. President Donald Trump affirmed that Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi played a key role in reaching a settlement to the war in Gaza, noting that “Hamas respects Egypt” and that Cairo contributed effectively to regional peace efforts.

During their meeting on the sidelines of the Sharm El-Sheikh Peace Summit, Trump described El-Sisi as a strong leader, emphasizing that the United States is working closely with him to achieve peace in the Middle East. He added that the region is witnessing a remarkable phase in its political trajectory.

In another context, the U.S. President said that Iran had suffered a major blow and might seek a new agreement. He pointed to the start of the second phase of talks related to the Gaza Agreement and confirmed that teams are currently working to recover the bodies of Israeli captives and clear the debris in the Gaza Strip.
