President Donald Trump stated Friday that Beijing has become extremely hostile toward global trade. He claimed that China has begun sending messages to other nations about imposing restrictions on exports of rare resources and essential industrial elements—a move he called unprecedented and potentially disruptive to world markets.

A Strong Response Looming

Trump affirmed that these measures validate his earlier positions on Chinese economic policies, asserting that the U.S. will not allow China to dominate global markets. He said the U.S. government is considering bold steps, including increasing tariffs, adding that “the world will not be captive to China.”

He warned that China’s trade moves “are making life difficult for nearly every country on Earth,” and noted that other nations have voiced concern over this sudden escalation—despite a relatively stable U.S.-China relationship over the past six months.
