Trump Sends Two Messages: Deal for Zelensky and Russian Oil Halt for Europe

U.S. President Donald Trump said that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky should reach an agreement with Russia regarding the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.

He explained in remarks to reporters at the White House, ahead of his trip to the United Kingdom, that he might have to participate in future peace negotiations between Moscow and Kyiv, citing the inability of the two sides to sit in the same room together.

Trump also renewed his call for European countries to stop purchasing oil from Russia, considering it a key step in addressing the consequences of the Ukrainian war. He confirmed that this position had been raised during previous meetings with European leaders.

Trump added that he is prepared to impose strict sanctions on Moscow if all member states of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) agree to halt Russian oil imports, noting that a united stance within the alliance could contribute to ending the conflict.
