Tunisian Ons Jabeur Continues to Shine, Reaches Quarterfinals of Brisbane WTA Tournament

Tunisian player Ons Jabeur, ranked 42nd in the world, advanced to the quarterfinals of the Australian 500-point tournament after defeating Armenian Elena Avanesyan in three sets, 6-4, 1-6, 6-4, in 1 hour and 50 minutes.

In the quarterfinals, Jabeur will face young Russian player Mira Andreeva, ranked 8th, who also triumphed over Czech Linda Noskova, 6-3, 6-0.

Jabeur, also known as the “Minister of Happiness,” faced a tough year last season due to injury, which caused her to drop out of the top 10 in the WTA rankings. She even announced her withdrawal from the season before it ended.
