Turkish city of Istanbul is paralysed

The continued heavy snowfall in the Turkish city of Istanbul in a storm that has been the worst in many years has paralysed traffic almost entirely by land, sea and air.
Snow has invaded the city since last week, and its effectiveness increased a few hours ago to block many major routes and postpone a large number of flights.
Most Turkish provinces experience similar snowstorms, with temperatures in some areas of the country reaching about 30 degrees below zero.
