Turkish operation in Iraq and Syria

Today, Sunday, the Turkish TV channel revealed that Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan carried out an air operation in Iraq and Syria upon his return from the G20 summit in Bali.

This channel showed clips from the presidential plane. The footage shows how Turkish Defense Minister Hulusi Akar informed Erdogan of the situation and handed him a document, and Erdogan signed the document.

Earlier today, Sunday, Turkish Defense Minister Hulusi Akar announced that his country had successfully carried out air strikes in northern Syria and Iraq, targeting “terrorists’ hideouts.”

Akar also said, “Operation Claw of the Sword in northern Iraq and Syria has been successfully completed,” referring to the air strikes launched by Ankara last night.

“Terrorists’ hideouts, shelters, caves, tunnels, and warehouses were destroyed with great success, with direct casualties,” Akar continued, adding, “We will continue to hold accountable those who target the security of our country and our people.”
